SEA MARVEL
Save, Enhance, Admire Marine Versatile Life
The project aims at identifying critical issues and shared needs in six Natura 2000 sites located between Sicily and Malta, in order to share knowledge among all visitors, whether they are tourists or members of the local community. In particular, schools and young people are involved through an awareness project so as to spread information about the vast biodiversity which surrounds them, while showing the fragility of the marine ecosystem, which can be protected by all of us, together. The goal is to create a wide network of cooperation between scientific community, fishermen, marine protected areas, students and many other actors within the project. In this way, they will become real “Sentinels of the Sea”.
