Diego Fiorentino

Diego Fiorentino studies biodiversity of the mediterranean marine fauna in the cross-border area Sicilia-Malta and in the gulf of Catania to promote conservation of vulnerable marine species and the reduction of the anthropic impact.

Diego Fiorentino was born in ‘72 in Catania where he lives and deals with biodiversity and conservation of the Mediterranean marine fauna in the cross-border Sicilia-Malta area through a research project of Di3A of the University of Catania. His work is focused on the study of the presence of vulnerable species and marine litter in the Strait of Sicily, and on the composition of landings made by fishing vessels in the gulf of Catania.
