Clare Mifsud
Clare is a conservation biologist and got her PhD at the Conservation Biology Research Group, University of Malta. She is broadly interested in biodiversity conservation of both marine and terrestrial environments. Clare has experience in using several tools which are applied for conservation research including bioacoustics, DNA barcoding and metabarcoding.
Clare works with the Conservation Biology Research Group team at the University of Malta on biodiversity conservation projects. Her previous research projects involved mammals and insects in terrestrial environments and involved the use of several tools applied for conservation, including bioacoustics and genetics such as DNA barcoding and metabarcoding. Clare also has experience in working and assisting in previous marine-related projects such as the Med-Jelly risk. As part of conservation biology, her efforts target both the scientific aspect of conservation and public awareness-related activities.
